Embedded Graphics Enablement at the Edge

In 2024, Lynx Software acquired CoreAVI, the global leader in graphics processor enablement for mission- and safety-critical embedded computing environments. Built on industry recognized open standards with flexible modular architectures as mandated by the defense and aerospace industry, The CoreAVI graphics product family adds certainty to your edge computing project.

 
  • Optimized to deliver high performance in resource-constrained edge computing devices. 
  • Designed for compliance with safety certifications including DO-178C (up to Design Assurance Level A), ISO 26262, and IEC 61508. Packages can include all required certification evidence. 
  • Built on open standard graphics APIs managed by the Khronos Group, a non-profit consortium that manages graphics and GPU Compute standards that have been implemented in hardware on a wide range of graphics processors. 
  • Lynx provides extended temperature and dynamic temperature range (DTR) screening to enable the use of SoCs and GPUs in high reliability systems. We also provide long-term component supply management for a selection of processors.   
  • The modular software architecture simplifies adding support for other GPUs and RTOSes over the life of your program. 

 

CoreSuite 2.0 Component

  • ComputeCore™ – GPU compute libraries that enable applications to leverage the graphics processor for neural networking, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Includes software modules for Basic Linear Algebra Subprograms (BLAS), Fast Fourier Transformations (FFT), and Neural Networking.  
  • VkCoreSC® – Drivers and libraries to enable deployment of a graphics processor in safety critical (“SC”) embedded computing applications. A small footprint variant of the Khronos Group’s Vulkan SC open standard API, with pre-integrated support for a target GPU and RTOS. Options include certification evidence packages for DO-178C up to DAL A and ISO 26262 up to ASIL D. 
  • TrueCore™ – A GPU safety monitor that continuously verifies the integrity of GPU graphics generation and / or the GPU Compute pipeline. Runs graphics and Compute tests that over time provide coverage of the full Vulkan SC pipeline.  
  • ProfileCore – A GPU performance profiling suite. Enables optimal application execution and resource usage, facilitates WCET (Worst-Case Execution Time) assessment and validation. 
  • EncodeCore® / DecodeCore® – Enables video encoding and decoding, using H.264 (MPEG-4/AVC), H.265 (HEVC), and more. Implements a low-latency design synchronized with the graphics pipeline. 
  • VkCoreGL® SC (1.0, 2.0) – Supports legacy applications and graphics processors that are not leveraging the newer and more advanced Vulkan SC graphics API that is implemented in VkCoreSC.
  • COTS-D XMC Module Design for AMD E9171 GPU - A DO-254 certifiable GPU module design that can be bundled with Lynx’s DO-178C certifiable software products to enable product manufacturing inside a target country. Provides domestic supply chain security and simplifies hardware and software certification.
