Session Description

MOSA Convergence: Leveraging SOSA, CMOSS, FACE, and Other Standards for Future Platform Designs 
 
The modular open systems approach (MOSA) is now a mandated business and design strategy. MOSA systems have gained more momentum than ever within the U.S. Department of Defense and in program development. Leaders of different standards efforts such as the Sensor Open Systems Architecture, or SOSA, Technical Standard; the Hardware Open Systems Technology (HOST) initiative; the C4ISR/Electronic Warfare Modular Open Suite of Standards (CMOSS); and the Future Airborne Capability Environment, or FACE, Technical Standard often discuss ways to enable convergence and unification of the various standards efforts to provide better guidance for acquisitions teams selecting which standards to use. This session will detail how these standards can converge to increase interoperability, deliver innovation, and enable lower lifecycle costs in future military systems.

Ethan Salehi

Technical Account Manager, Lynx

Ethan Salehi is an Technical Account Manager at Lynx and a Ph.D. researcher at Kennesaw State University, where his research focuses on safe and secure real-time operating systems for multicore embedded systems. He has extensive experience supporting defense and aerospace programs with certifiable software solutions aligned with MOSA, FACE, and DO-178C standards. Ethan previously served as a FACE Verification Authority at LDRA and contributed to multicore interference analysis initiatives in collaboration with the U.S. Army. His work bridges theoretical architectures and practical deployment of OS-level standardization, supporting mission-critical environments such as degraded visual operations and autonomous systems.
