Lynx

Lynx is honored to have been selected by the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) as an awardee on the Scalable Homeland Innovative Enterprise Layered Defense (SHIELD) indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract.

SHIELD is a cornerstone acquisition vehicle designed to enable rapid, flexible delivery of advanced capabilities in support of homeland and regional missile defense missions. The contract structure allows MDA to quickly engage trusted industry partners across a broad range of technical domains, ensuring speed, adaptability, and resilience in the face of evolving threats.

“Being selected for the MDA SHIELD IDIQ is a meaningful milestone for Lynx,” said Tim Reed Chief Executive Officer of Lynx. “It reflects our team’s proven ability to deliver mission-critical software, integration, and test capabilities for complex defense and space systems. We look forward to supporting MDA by helping accelerate delivery while maintaining the rigor and reliability these missions demand.”

Software as a Mission Enabler

Modern missile defense and space systems are increasingly defined by their software. From flight software and avionics integration to simulation environments and automated test frameworks, success depends on the ability to deliver reliable, safety-critical software at operational tempo.

Lynx brings proven experience supporting this reality.

Our teams have delivered embedded and flight software, software integration and test, and testbed simulation capabilities for complex aerospace and defense programs, including work performed under major prime contractors. This experience directly aligns with SHIELD’s focus on scalable, high-impact technical support.

Relevant Experience Aligned to SHIELD

Across prior programs, Lynx has supported many mission-critical efforts involving:

  • Flight and embedded software development using C++ and Python in Linux and RTOS environments
  • DO-178C–aligned development practices for safety-critical systems
  • Software integration and test (I&T) across hardware-in-the-loop and simulation environments
  • Automated CI/CD pipelines using modern DevSecOps tooling to improve software quality and delivery speed
  • Static analysis and unit testing frameworks to reduce defect escape and technical risk
  • Testbed and simulation software enabling rapid verification and mission rehearsal

These capabilities allow Lynx to help government and prime partners accelerate delivery while maintaining rigor, a balance that is essential for missile defense and space missions.

Built for Speed, Rigor, and Trust

What differentiates Lynx is not just technical skill, but how we apply it:

  • We integrate seamlessly into government and prime contractor teams
  • We understand defense acquisition, compliance, and flow-down requirements
  • We focus on reducing integration friction, improving test coverage, and strengthening software confidence
  • We deliver engineers who are productive quickly and effective in high-consequence environments

This approach supports SHIELD’s objective to reduce cycle times while maintaining the trust required for operational systems.

Looking Ahead

As a SHIELD awardee, Lynx looks forward to supporting MDA and its mission partners across current and future task orders. We are committed to helping deliver resilient, software-driven capabilities that strengthen missile defense, space operations, and integrated deterrence.

We are proud to support the MDA mission and the warfighters who depend on these systems.
