DIRECTOR OF LEGAL OPERATIONS

 
Reports to: CFO 
Location: Remote/Hybrid - HQ in San Jose, CA  

 

SUMMARY

We are seeking a legal operations professional who has a strong background in government subcontractor contract management, FAR and DFAR compliance and regulations, contract negotiation, documenting policies and building processes. In this role you must be a results-oriented professional with effective execution skills, the ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced environment and work proactively with various teams across the organization. This role reports to the CFO.

Responsibilities

The Director, Legal Operations duties include, but are not limited to the following: 
  • Operate effectively on foundational matters like contracting, records management, and other team needs (e.g., HR policies, vendor/contractor relationships and renewals)
  • Negotiate and review customer and inbound contracts, including licensing agreements and NDAs
  • Manage the contracts lifecycle process for all agreements reviewed by the Legal team; work with teammates to maintain contract repository—including document processing, electronic signatures, electronic filing, scanning, and light data processing—ensuring all contracts are properly tracked, executed, and filed appropriately
  • Support responses to data requests or other document requests in relation to legal processes
  • Manage government contracting requirements
  • Support foreign subsidiary contract, lease, and legal needs
  • Support M&A integrations, help research & collaborate with legal counsel as needed
  • Tackle special research projects and other duties as requested by members of exec team
  • Seek and liaise with legal counsel as required 

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; paralegal, legal management, or legal operational certificate from an accredited program preferred; graduate or juris doctorate degree a plus:
  • 7+ years of experience with legal operations
  • Experience with government subcontracts, FAR & DFAR regulations & compliance
  • Experience with ITAR/EAR compliance (not required)
  • Detailed-oriented, self-starter, problem-solver, strong analytical, and project management skills
  • Demonstrated abilities in operational excellence, to independently and collaboratively track and move projects forward while adapting to changing priorities
  • Ability to organize, think critically, strategically and tactically, meet deadlines yet remain flexible in a dynamic multi-task and fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills with internal stakeholders, outside vendors, and other parties
