B&B Electronics' Vlinx wireless Ethernet servers connect legacy serial equipment to 802.11b and 802.11g wireless networks. These wireless Ethernet serial servers are ideal in harsh environments such as manufacturing plant floors where running connected cables is impractical. Based on the wireless 802.11b and 802.11g standards, these wireless Ethernet servers provide proven asynchronous connectivity for real-time data uploads. The servers are available in one-, two-, and four-port versions and support all of the most popular interfaces including the RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485.
Two compatible LynuxWorks operating systems work together harmoniously within these industrial wireless Ethernet servers—BlueCat® embedded Linux® and the LynxOS® RTOS (real-time operating system). Together, BlueCat Linux and LynxOS RTOS provide B&B Electronics with the operating-system compatibility and flexibility they need to build tough products that perform solidly in harsh environments.
