SAN JOSÉ, Calif., October 15, 1996—Lynx Real-Time Systems, Inc. today announced that Bhupi Singh, a former Apple Computer executive, joined the company to serve as its Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance.

"Bhupi's wide-ranging experience in a variety of areas—especially in international finance—will help Lynx continue its global expansion in providing real-time operating systems. He is a strong addition to our management team," said Lynx's President William A. Hogan. In his new position, Singh reports directly to Hogan.

Singh's multinational outlook is in keeping with the company's sales. Lynx, which recently reached its eighth straight quarter of record sales, plans to increase its headcount by 40% in FY1996.

Singh joins Lynx Real Time Systems Inc. with more than 20 years of financial and operational management experience in high technology. Prior to joining Lynx, Singh held several domestic and international management positions at Apple Computer, Inc., most recently as Senior Director of Finance. He directed all financial and business planning activities for Apple's worldwide R&D functions and Macintosh Product Divisions.

Singh began his career at Apple in Singapore and played an instrumental role in the growth of Apple's Far East operations. Prior to working at Apple, Singh held a variety of senior financial and general management positions in Singapore-based manufacturing and trading companies. He has a Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of Singapore, is a Chartered Management Accountant (UK) and a Certified Public Accountant (Australia). Singh, 44, lives with his wife and two children in Saratoga, Calif.

The appointment comes on the heels of Lynx's recent announcement to add scalable and web-based offerings to its chief product, LynxOS. LynxOS is real-time operating systems software, chiefly for industry in communications, medical, and aerospace markets.
